Need another reason to get painting? Another excuse to get away from things and airbrush an artwork? Well that’s exactly what you’ll get when you enrol in the voluntary ‘paint pals’.
The brother of airbrushtutor.com is airbrushforum.org – an airbrush community dedicated to helping one another learn and progress. One of the things that sets theorange airbrush forum apart from others is that we actively try to come up with reasons to get people airbrushing either by holding competitions, collective artworks – or for the month of June it was Paint Pals!
Paint pals is a fun exercise that gives you a reason to get airbrushing, with all the distractions of unimportant things like work and family, it can often be hard to find time to do any airbrushing, however by getting involved in paint pals you have a duty to your comrades!
You volunteer and are given a name and address. The criteria is simple, paint anything onto a 5inch x 7inch board. The card must be sent before the end of the month and as you receive your paint pal, you are to take a photo and post it on the forum!
Simple as that! So all through the month of June and beginning of July, airbrush artists across the world are receiving post cards with awesome airbrush designs on them, while people have a reason to get airbrushing again!
It couldn’t get much better than that!
The above photo is the mid way point of my paint pal to an (as of writing) anonymous person in the United States. As I got everything set up, I thought why not do a tutorial on this simple monochrome piece? So that’s what I did. Let this picture serve as a preview of the 2 part tutorial to come:)
Paint Pals is run irregularly, every 3 – 4 months of the year. To find out when it will be on again, be sure to visit the orange airbrush forum!
